We have an extra special episode for Heart of Dating Listeners today. Today we have our very own host Kait Warman share her personal story and testimony on abuse. Kait shares her heart by talking about her own personal experiences in being in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. Kait also shares wisdom as how to overcome gaslighting and overall how to heal from the trauma following an abusive relationship. Some additional topics Kait discusses in this episode: 

  • Kait discusses gaslighting which is a form of emotional abuse that causes a victim to question their own feelings, and how it plays a major role in abusive relationships.
  • Identifying the different types of gaslighting and abusive: withholding, countering, diverting, trivializing, and denial.
  • The abuse cycle: signs, symptoms, and red flags
  • The process of healing through breaking soul-ties, seeking mentorship, and seeking Christ through it all.
  • How God has reclaimed your worth and is there with you throughout the healing process.
  • Kait also discusses how you can NOT change someone and discusses some mistakes people make coming out of an abusive relationship.
  • It is possible to RECLAIM your worth and value and be so firmly rooted in Jesus and fully HEALED from the past that you can take on the future with VICTORY.
