What is Camp HOD?

This fall, join Heart of Dating’s Kait and JJ Tomlin as well as 200+ Christian singles for an intimate time of gathering and learning amidst the gorgeous fall foliage in the mountains of Asheville.

Come ready to meet new friends, learn from peers and mentors alike, have loads of fun, and be refreshed and encouraged in your season of singleness.

This is a retreat for singles- meaning anyone who is NOT married. If you are dating or in a relationship, you are welcome here :)

What's Included?

01: All Meals

Dinner Friday, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Saturday, and Breakfast Sunday are all included in the admission cost. There are additional snacks and coffee available on site for purchase.


Two nights of accommodations at Ridgecrest Retreat Center are included! Please note you might end up in a bunk room with a maximum of 4 people per room. Each attendee will have their own bed and women will be paired in rooms with other women and men will be paired with other men. Please note that transportation is not covered in your cost.


Our vision for the weekend includes loads of meeting and mingling with fellow Christian singles. From enjoying the gorgeous retreat center grounds, to bonfires, intentional meals, worship, games, competitions, and more… there will be so much to do! We will have organized activities as well as plenty of free time.


Our retreat will be different from our yearly conference. Worship will be powerful, yet casual. Our workshops will include interviews and Q&A’s as well as niche breakouts.

Kait Tomlin

Kait is a Los Angeles based author, relationship coach, online educator, speaker, and host of the Heart of Dating Podcast, a top 50 Christian rated Podcast. Kait's mission is to empower both men and women to have the courage to own their story, walk in victory, thrive with purpose, and discover clarity and vision in their life and relationships.

JJ Tomlin

From life experience as a millenial, single (now married) dude, JJ Tomlin knows what the digital age of post-COVID dating entails; ghosting, long-distance, virtual everything, friendationships - whatever it is, JJ loves going there with a scripture-based, wisdom-filled way of dating that is always realistic, practical and guaranteed to set our single men up for SUCCESS.


Jason VanRuler, MA is one of the most sought-after therapists on relationships, attachment, and
dating. In addition to his social media following, he has been featured on top national news outlets, spoken on stage to thousands,
and is the author of Get Past Your Past (Zondervan, 2023). Jason resides in South Dakota with his wife and three amazing kids.

Barb hill

Barb Hill is a writer and Licensed Mental Health Therapist.
In 2019, Barb founded Holding Space Counseling, a thriving group practice in Franklin, TN. Barb calls Tennessee home and lives in Nashville, TN with her pup Nash. Barb's debut book, Seasons of Waiting: An Invitation to Hope, is a 52-week devotional that released with Tyndale House on November 8, 2022.

Jessi green

Jessi is a revivalist, preacher, wife, mom, visionary and creative type. Along with raising her four
children David Leonidas, Ethan Everest, Summer Kingsley and Madison Parker, she is the
director of Saturate Global which is a grassroots revival movement that is uniting the church in
reaching those that don’t know Jesus, baptizing them and making disciples that multiply.

What are accommodations like?

We currently have 2 different kinds of rooms booked: a queen with a twin bed and a bunk room that also has a queen bed. You will not be able to choose which room you will be placed in, however upon registering you will be sent a form where you can put your preferences.

What if I have food allergies?

We can accommodate food allergies, you just have to let us know on your intake form in advance.

Can I stay off property?

No. You must stay on property and your admission includes a 2 night stay.

Can I choose my roommate? Can I have a single room?

You can make roommate requests on the intake form we send you after registration, however nothing is guaranteed and most roommate selections will be randomized.

As far as single rooms (we hear you), NO! We're embracing the camp style from our youth which included late night chats in our bunks! This is also a great way for you to build community and get to know others better! You're never too old to be a kid again ;)

How do we get to the retreat center?

You are responsible for your transportation to the retreat. The nearest airport, Asheville Regional Airport, is located 30 miles from the retreat center.

Our time together will begin with check-in from 1-3 on Friday the 27th so please book flights accordingly. If you have any questions about transportation, please email

When should I arrive?

You can arrive anytime after 12pm. You will go to the Lobby to check-in with the front desk, see map below. If your room is not ready, you can leave your suitcase at the front desk until your room is ready for check-in and hang out in the coffee shop, lobby or outside on property.

What topics will you be covering?

Our main weekend theme will be HEALING. Actual topics will be announced later on :) We are so excited for the mentors we will be hosting on site!

What should I pack?

  • Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots. You will be doing a lot of walking!
  • Light layers such as t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, and a lightweight jacket or sweater for cooler evenings.
  • Shorts or lightweight pants for daytime, and perhaps jeans or slightly warmer pants for evenings.
  • A rain jacket or poncho, as September can still bring some rain.
  • Athletic wear: T-shirt, Shorts, leggings, running or walking shoes for our Team Field Day.

Outdoor Gear:

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses for outdoor activities.
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated during your adventures. ( there are refill stations around, as well as the Food hall having water stations).
  • Insect repellent

Comfort Items:

  • Any medications or personal care items you may need.
  • A reusable shopping bag or tote to carry your belongings between your room or auditorium.


  • Phone and charger.
  • Camera or smartphone for capturing the beautiful scenery and all the memories you will make!
  • Portable power bank if you'll be away from outlets for extended periods.


  • A journal or notebook and pen to jot down thoughts or reflections during CAMP HOD.
